This is the presence of a double row of eyelashes on the eyelid. One of the rows consists of very small eyelashes that are turned in against the eyeball. These lashes can be very difficult to visualize. Symptoms can range from mild (excess tearing) to severe (damage to the cornea or surface of the eyeball). Correction requires a delicate surgery and a prolonged healing time.
